Pumpkin Spice Cream Cheese Dip

Oh no. It’s Thanksgiving dinner IN THREE HOURS and you’re going to your in-laws and completely forgot that you needed to take something with you! No fear, I’ve been there; scrambling around trying to find something quick and easy to make that doesn’t break the bank, while also refusing to buy something pre made from the grocery store. I am here for you.

This quick and easy, budget friendly pumpkin cream cheese dip is the one for you. All you’ll need is 5 ingredients, – most of which you probably already have in your pantry – and a strong arm. After a quick trip to the grocery store, this dish will take you all of 7 minutes to make, leaving you enough time to slap some makeup on and throw together a forgiving outfit (for the turkey belly).

What you’ll need:

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin
  • 2 packages of 250g cream cheese (so 500g total)
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

Literally there is no method to this other than to chuck it all into a bowl and mix and mix until you feel like you’re arm is going to drop off and there are no lumps of cream cheese left.

Leave it in the fridge until serving. If you want to get fancy then gut out a mini pumpkin and put the dip in there for aesthetics and mother-in-law points. If you’re anything like me then screw the effort and just chuck it in a glass bowl and call it done. Tastes the same either way. Serve with graham crackers, ginger snaps, or apple slices (or all three because it’s thanksgiving and calories don’t count).

Let me know if you give it a go! (and yes I realize this pumpkin dip is pictured with a butternut squash but I was lacking resources so this is what you get… it’s still fall themed… whatever…).

If you don’t have to have anything put together until tomorrow, consider trying this fan favourite instead: White Chocolate Lucky Charm Cereal Treats. You could even sub out the Lucky Charms for Pumpkin Spice Cheerios to make it a little more festive!

Until next time

xx
