Upper Limit Lifestyle Activewear Review

I’ll be honest, I had never even heard of this brand until they slid into my DMs on Instagram (@littlebitoflouise – go and follow ya girl for more regular content) and asked me if I wanted to be a Brand Ambassador.

I took a quick peak through their Instagram, did some research on the brand itself, and agreed to join their team!

To start with, I didn’t receive any product for free – which I understand. But it’s a little impossible (I think) to start promoting a product to people with a discount code (it’s louise10 by the way), without actually having some of the product itself – I definitely don’t want to turn into someone that promotes any kind of product if I don’t like and use it myself.

So I ordered a sports bra and a pair of leggings. I could have also ordered a top but I barely wear shirts to the gym anymore so I felt that was kind of useless? I got the Highwaist Triple Slant Colourblock Leggings ($65), and the Terra Block Cross Back Sports Bra ($50).

Sizing

I ordered both the leggings and the sports bra in a small. I asked the advice of the rep that contacted by about the ambassador opportunity for sizing advice on the leggings and they said to go with a small based on my measurements. Their sizing guide online also suggested going for a small based on my measurements!

I’ve said before in my other activewear reviews that I’m 5’6, 145-150lbs depending on the day, my waist measures at about 26 inches and my hips/glutes at about 40inches. I wear a small in Gymshark and Alphalete, 4 or 6 in Lululemon leggings, I wear a 34C bra and am typically a small in almost all sports bras (except Forever 21 and Old Navy – I’m a medium).

The small in the sports bra fit absolutely perfectly. I felt secured in there, with no chance of flying around if I jumped or ran, but not suffocated or uncomfortable.

The leggings were where I ran into some issues. As soon as I took them out of the package I knew they wouldn’t fit properly, the waist looked very bit compared to my other leggings! I tried them on anyway incase my eyes were deceiving me… they weren’t.

The leggings fit very well around my legs and bum, but there was quite a lot of loose fabric around my waist – so much so that it gaped at the small of my back. They looked fabulous on, from the front, but from the back they looked a little sloppy, and I knew that I’d spend my whole workout in the gym ragging on them to stay up if I didn’t get a smaller size.

So, I exchange for an extra small. Same legging, just the size down.

Material

The material on both the leggings and the sports bra were nice, though both quite different.

The sports bra had more of that buttery soft feel to them that Lululemon products have, which made it very comfortable and gentle on my skin. The leggings were still soft, but more “fabric-like” and cotton-y, if that makes sense?

The biggest legging test of all, as you probably know by now, is the squat proof test – these ones passed.
